She sticks out like a sore thumb. At first glance, in a room full of tall and muscular boxers, the 5-foot-3-inch Christina Kwan looks like someone who accidentally stumbled into the wrong place.

But after watching her spar with former World Boxing Organization world junior welterweight champion DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley at the Top Rank Gym, 3041 Business Lane, in preparation for her professional boxing debut, it's evident this is a pugilist intent on leaving her mark, as well as making a name for herself in the sport.

The 24-year-old Sunrise Manor resident is a fashion design major at the International Academy of Design and Technology in Henderson and recently presented a colorful statement in a runway show -- a complete, and very colorful, flouncy outfit created from empty snack packaging.

Ten-year-old Dzree Posey, a fourth-grade student at Brookman Elementary School, was invited to participate on the USA Soccer Academy's girls 12 and under team, which played in Italy from April 8-18 in the Como Champions Cup.

Dzree, a defenseman for the Heat SC's 11-and-under team in Las Vegas, was accompanied by her aunt and joined three other girls from Las Vegas on the Italy Tour, which was designed to expose players from the U.S. to soccer-rich destinations in Europe, Asia and South America.
