The 'trashy' look
Chip bags, old bottle caps take on new life with fashion student

Next time you finish noshing on some Fritos, Doritos or Lay's potato chips, you may wish to consider that the lined foil bag could be put to a greater use if you sent it to Corina Romero instead of popping it into the trash can.

The 24-year-old Sunrise Manor resident is a fashion design major at the International Academy of Design and Technology in Henderson and recently presented a colorful statement in a runway show -- a complete, and very colorful, flouncy outfit created from empty snack packaging.

Fun on foreign soil
Young soccer player enjoys slice of Italy and taste of victory

Ten-year-old Dzree Posey, a fourth-grade student at Brookman Elementary School, was invited to participate on the USA Soccer Academy's girls 12 and under team, which played in Italy from April 8-18 in the Como Champions Cup.

Dzree, a defenseman for the Heat SC's 11-and-under team in Las Vegas, was accompanied by her aunt and joined three other girls from Las Vegas on the Italy Tour, which was designed to expose players from the U.S. to soccer-rich destinations in Europe, Asia and South America.
