BALLET

Nevada Ballet Theatre to perform at library

The Nevada Ballet Theatre will present "Global Destinations: Around the World in 80 Minutes," at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the West Las Vegas Library, 951 W. Lake Mead Blvd.

The show will provide sights, sounds and movements from around the world, from classic Russian dances to American tap dancing.

This event is free and open to the public.

Big Boy Toys Show set at South Coast

A show featuring the latest products and services for men including cars, boats, home entertainment products, games, winter and summer sports, motorcycles, aeronautics, power tools, barbecues and more will be Friday through Sunday at the South Coast events center, 9777 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Show hours are noon to 7 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Admission is $12, free for children under age 10.

Tribe to host Snow Mountain Powwow

The Las Vegas Paiute Tribe will celebrates American Indian culture at its 18th annual Snow Mountain Powwow from Friday through Sunday.

The powwow will feature dancers in traditional dress, as well as artisans, crafters, booths with jewelry, pottery, flutes, traditional American Indian music and singers from across the U.S. and Canada.

Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for seniors, and free for children ages 10 and under.

The Las Vegas Paiute Snow Mountain Indian Reservation is about 20 miles north of Las Vegas via U.S. Highway 95 North and Exit 95 to Snow Mountain.

Basic High School band to perform Friday

Tuba soloist Patrick Sheridan will perform with the Basic High School band at 7 p.m. Friday in the Basic High School theater, 400 N. Palo Verde Drive.

Tickets are $5 for students and $8 for adults.

Orchard provides summer fruit for sale

The Master Gardener Orchard offers summer fruit for sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday and Saturday.

Seasonal offerings includes apricots, peaches, plums, table grapes, apples, pears, almonds, quince, pomegrantes, persimmons, nectarines and figs.

The fruit is grown without harsh pesticides.

The Orchard, at Horse Drive and North Decatur Boulevard in North Las Vegas, is a volunteer, non-profit, educational project designed to demonstrate how to grow fruit in the Las Vegas Valley.
