The Southern Nevada Musical Arts Society invites singers in the area to perform in its annual Pops Concert, set for June 10 and 11 at Horn Theatre on the CCSN Cheyenne campus.
The Musical Arts Chorus will prepare music by Broadway composers George Gershwin and Jerome Kern. Rehearsals are held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Sundays in room 222 of UNLV's Alta Ham Fine Arts Building.

Bloomingdale's event to benefit NBT
Nevada Ballet Theatre will benefit from all sales made May 17 at the Bloomingdale's Home Store at Fashion Show mall, 3200 Las Vegas Blvd. South.
That day, beginning at noon, Bloomingdale's will donate 10 percent of net purchases to Nevada Ballet Theatre. Guests can "shop for a cause" until 9 p.m. that night. Receipts must be presented to the Nevada Ballet Theatre table inside the store.
The city of Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services invites everyone to enjoy a family celebration, barbecue dinner, games for youth, a special gift for mothers, and a movie in the park beginning at 5 p.m. on Saturday at the Brinley Middle School soccer field, 2480 Maverick St.
Families will enjoy field games, entertainment and an all-you-can-eat barbecue. "Nanny McPhee" will be shown on a big screen outdoors beginning at sunset. Admission is free. The barbecue dinner is priced at $10 per person or $25 for a family of up to five.
The event is sponsored by Brinley Community School and Gibson Community School, which provide supervised sports, recreation and leisure activities for youth and adults.

Fundraising tea set for JW Marriott
The third annual Hats off to Child Focus Mother's Day Tea is planned for 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Valencia Room at JW Marriott, 221 N. Rampart Blvd.
Expect high tea and a fashion show with special entertainment for young attendees. The event benefits Child Focus, a nonprofit organization which provides resources and services to enrich the lives of children living in foster care.

Evening of Excellence planned at Red Rock
The board of directors of The Children's Forum announces its 10th anniversary of The Evening of Excellence. It is slated for Saturday at the Red Resort. Cocktails and a silent auction begin at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m.
Cocktail attire is requested. The master of ceremonies will be TV news personality Nate Tannenbaum. Tickets are $150 per person. For more information, call 326-8510.
Fashion show to benefit hospice
The Nathan Adelson Hospice and host sponsor Neiman Marcus will hold a fashion show and luncheon on May 24 at Wynn Las Vegas. A reception begins at 10:30 a.m., with the fashion show and luncheon beginning at 11:30 a.m.
Proceeds will benefit the free care fund of the Nathan Adelson Hospice. This year's fashion show will feature the fall 2006 collection of Valentino. The Opportunity Item drawing will include gifts from designers from around the world.

It's showtime for moms with 'Le R?ve'
The cast and crew of "Le R?ve," and the staff at Wynn Las Vegas plan to honor mothers by offering 2-for-1 show tickets for both performances on Sunday, Mother's Day. Showtimes are 7:30 and 10:30 p.m.
Patrons may purchase tickets at the Wynn Las Vegas ticket office or by calling 770-9966. The Mother's Day rate must be requested and is subject to availability. Minimum is two tickets per person; maximum is four. Tickets start at $90.
