Disaster prep
Firefighters placed at the scene of mock school bus accident
By MARK SMITH VIEW STAFF WRITER
There is little that sends chills racing up the spines of emergency responders than a report that a school bus has been in a bad accident -- a school bus loaded with youngsters, some of whom are likely injured and in desperate need of medical aid and comfort.
That was the scenario on April 17 at the Nevada Pic-A-Part wrecking yard at 5090 N. Lamb Boulevard as the North Las Vegas Fire Department conducted a full-blown mass casualty extrication drill.

Aiming to impress
Red Rock Resort suites offer plenty of space and amenities
By JAN HOGAN VIEW STAFF WRITER
Though they might be used to getting treated and pampered, even VIP guests must be impressed with the amenities at the recently opened Red Rock Resort, particularly those available to visitors lucky enough to be staying in a VIP suite.
Upon pulling up to the valet, the VIP is greeted and the front desk is discreetly alerted via the doorman's microphone ear-piece. Approaching the front desk, the guest is greeted by name and offered refreshing hand towels -- called oshibori -- at the perfect temperature to complement that day's climate. Fresh fruit such as chocolate-dipped strawberries is there as well.

Anthem resident opens business, uses rock tunes to teach
By MARIA PHELAN VIEW STAFF WRITER
When Jonathan Robbins sings the "Welcome Song" that kicks off every session of morning classes at the Rock and Roll Kids Play Gym, he really gets into it, even though he's practically alone in his office. Swaying to his own beat while smiling and emoting a welcoming vibe, it's easy to imagine Robbins as the center of attention, even in a room full of toddlers.
When Jonathan, an Anthem resident and owner of the Anthem-area business, broke the song off about 30 seconds in to explain its origins, he was still just as exuberantly energetic.
