Twist on takeout
Restaurant closes early so families can eat together

Jimmy's Cafe, 8427 W. Lake Mead Blvd., just east of Rampart Boulevard, wants patrons to come for dinner -- and leave within five minutes.
Besides breakfast and lunch, it offers three-course dinners, but those are strictly to go. It's a concept meant to get families off the fast-food track and back to their own dinner tables.

E-Bunny hops to community's aid
Local woman uses donations to hand out Easter baskets to children in Las Vegas

Back in the early 1990s, when Barbara Kenig started handing out Easter baskets to needy children in Detroit, she began with 25 baskets. It was the perfect community service activity for her son's Boy Scout troop.
In the years to follow, she kept up the tradition. Soon, she was up to 250 baskets. Candy, small toys and the baskets were all donated from various sources.
