Red, White & Boom begins two-day fest

Clark County's Red, White & Boom Fourth of July Celebration will be from 4 to 11 p.m. Monday and July 4 at Desert Breeze Park, 8275 W. Spring Mountain Road.

The festival includes midway games, food vendors and arts and crafts. The lineup of bands includes Fletch, Saving Jane, Seether, Flogging Molly and Social Distortion on Monday and Away Station, Jacks Mannequin, and Colin Hay from Men at Work on Tuesday.

Admission for a one-day pass is $17.50 or $30 for two days. Day of show is $22. Children 12 and under are admitted free. Visit www.redwhitenboom.com for more information.

City of Henderson celebrates Fourth

The city of Henderson will present its Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration from 5 to 10 p.m. July 4 at two locations: Anthem Hills Park, 2256 N. Reunion Drive; and Morrell Park, 500 Harris Street. The events will feature live music, youth activities, attractions and food concessions. Fireworks by Grucci begin at 9 p.m. Free continuous shuttle buses are available to and from each park. No barbecuing, glass bottles, sparklers or fireworks are permitted. Call 267-4060 for more information.

Philharmonic offers 'Star-Spangled' Fourth

The Las Vegas Philharmonic will perform patriotic tunes and marches for a family style Independence Day event at 8 p.m. July 4 at Hills Park, on Hillpointe Road at Rampart Boulevard.

During the concert finale, there will be a fireworks show by Zambelli Internationale. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the gate. Tickets for children ages 6 to 12 are $15 and children 5 and younger are free. Call 895-2787 or visit www.unlv.com.

Boulder City Damboree planned

The 58th annual Boulder City Damboree will begin with a 7 a.m. Rotary pancake breakfast July 4 in Bicentennial Park, behind City Hall in Boulder City.

There will be a parade down Nevada Way at 9 a.m. traveling to Central Park at Fifth Street and Avenue B.

At 9:05 a.m. there will be a flyover by planes from Nellis Air Force Base. At 11 a.m. the Damboree ceremonies take place with a flag raising, national anthem, greetings by dignitaries and the presentation of parade trophies.

Entertainment in Central Park begins at 11:30 a.m. At 12:30 p.m. there will be a dedication of the Robert Broadbent Memorial Park, Fifth Street at Avenue B. At 2 p.m. games, contests and the traditional coin toss will be at the swimming pool at 4 p.m.

From 6 to 11 p.m., the celebration continues at Veterans' Memorial Park, Buchanan Boulevard and Airport Road. At 7 p.m. the entertainment begins and at 9 p.m. the fireworks show takes place. After fireworks, there will be more entertainment until 11 p.m.

Robison school site of annual celebration

The 10th annual All-American Fourth of July Celebration will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon July 4 at Robison Community School, 4794 Harris Ave. The city of Las Vegas sponsors this event featuring homemade root beer, contests, Matchbox races and carnival games.

Hot dogs, cotton candy, popcorn and snow cones will be available for sale. Admission is free. Call 229-2542 for more information.
