Mother's Day has come and gone and now it's time to recognize that other parent -- yes, it's time to start thinking about Father's Day.
If you haven't started making Father's Day plans just yet, you still have another week and a half. But it's probably time to start thinking about gifts for dad.
Mandalay Place's The Art of Shaving (www.theartofshaving.com) carries a huge selection of high-end shaving tools, from pre-shave oils to razors ranging from the classic straight variety ($45-$300) to five-blade, nickel-plated, engraved razors ($250). The retailer also carries a book called "The Art of Shaving" ($17), after-shave balms (125ml, $38) and starter kits for products in the unscented, Lavender Essential Oil, Lemon Essential Oil and Sandalwood Essential Oil lines ($38).
You can also pamper dad by scheduling a professional shave at the store's Barber Spa, where men can book several services, including the traditional shave ($35), the royal shave or a face and head shave (both $55), a haircut ($40) and a free shaving consultation with the store's barbers.
If dad is a fan of an HBO show, the network's online shop (www.store.hbo.com) has all kinds of logo merchandise, from T-shirts sporting "The Sopranos," "Deadwood" and "Entourage" ($19.99) to "The Sopranos" bowling balls ($139.99) and bowling ball bags ($18.99), "Deadwood" Saloon Beer Steins ($11.99) and Gem Saloon shot glasses ($9.99), "The Soprano Family Cookbook" ($19.95) and DVD collections of the complete seasons of many HBO shows.
J & J Poker Supplies and Unique Collectibles, 9770 S. Maryland Parkway, is home to all manner of poker and gaming stuff for the dad who plays cards.

And finally, a reader suggested Scott Hubbard's book, "The Ultimate Shop Manual: A Man's Guide to Shopping for and with Women," as a Father's Day gift, although it sounds like that might be more of a gift for the woman in dad's life.
