graffiti abatement: Making amends
Proponents applaud program for holding youth accountable

Youth assigned to court-ordered community service for graffiti crimes will literally clean up after themselves and other offenders as part of an expanded program that kicked off earlier this month.

The juvenile graffiti offender program put in place by Clark County's Juvenile Justice Services requires youth sentenced to community service for graffiti crimes to work with the county's graffiti abatement specialists to paint over graffiti throughout the valley.

ONE FOR THE SILVER STATE: Winning farewell
Team strikes victory at Kava Bowl in last hurrah before college

It was the first time a team of graduated high school seniors from Nevada participated in an All-Star football game out of state, representing their home in the 2006 Kava Bowl tournament, claiming the title of Kava Bowl champions by winning both games.

Organized and coached by Bishop Gorman High School head coach David White, with help from Las Vegas Gladiators general manager Dan Dolby, the team used the event as an opportunity to play together in two final games before beginning their college careers as well as get some exposure to college recruiters.
