HENDERSON CSI: Evidence of fundraising
Group hopes to raise $37 million to build crime lab

Rick Workman thinks it's high time the state got another crime lab to keep up with the population growth of the last decade. And he's taken matters into his own hands by starting a fundraising effort to build a lab in Henderson someday.

Workman said the capacity to analyze crime scene evidence in Nevada has not kept up with growth and now departments have such a backlog of cases, the ability to solve crimes is hindered.

Molten Warriors go to battle
Volleyball club hopes to finish in top six in national tournament

After finishing 13th in their age group last year in the USA Junior Olympic Volleyball Championships, the players on the Molten Warriors Volleyball Club of Las Vegas 18-and-under team were confident of a higher finish at this year's tournament.

The annual boys' tourney, which opened July 5 and concludes tomorrow is being played for the first time at the Minneapolis Convention center in Minneapolis and features elite volleyball clubs from around the nation.
