California artist Laura Kleger's color photographs from her Neighborhood Watch and Patriot Memory series will be in an exhibition titled Home Front, starting Friday and running through April 2 at the Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 S. Brush St.
The artist considers the social landscape -- both public and private -- in post-Sept. 11 America in these photographic works.
Charleston Heights Arts Center gallery hours are from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekends.
The center will host an artist reception for the public from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Feb. 9, with a gallery talk about the works at 7 p.m.

Rudner tapped as Woman of the Year
Nevada Ballet Theatre plans its Black & White Ball Jan. 28 in the Latour Ballroom at Wynn Las Vegas.
The main event will commence at 6:30 p.m. with dinner at 7:30 p.m.
This year's Woman of the Year award goes to Rita Rudner, headliner at the New York-New York.
"Rita Rudner was a natural choice for Nevada Ballet Theatre's Woman of the Year," said Nancy Houssels co-founder and chairwoman of Nevada Ballet Theatre. "She is a former dancer and is a favorite Las Vegas performer and resident."
Sponsored by Cartier and Wells Fargo, Nevada Ballet Theatre's Black & White Ball will feature a three-course gourmet menu.
Emcee is David Brenner and 12 professional company members from the ballet will perform a Bob Fosse number.
Tables prices are $5,000 Gold, $10,000 Platinum and $25,000 Diamond.

Mayor to lead power walk at senior center
The city of Las Vegas invites adults ages 50 and older to join Mayor Oscar Goodman for a free fitness power walk slated for Jan. 31 at the Doolittle Senior Center, 1950 N. J St.
Participants should meet at at the center's entrance at 8 a.m. A continental breakfast will be provided.
"Fitness is important for people of all ages, especially seniors," Goodman said. "I encourage our seniors to participate in this walk to help them get on the right track to good health."
Comfortable shoes and clothing are recommended.
