There's the dedication walkway, with paving stones remembering loved ones who passed away. There's the memorial to remember those who died on Sept. 11. Now Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area has a third memorial.

This tribute honors 29 soldiers from Nevada whose lives were lost in the Afghanistan and Iraq wars. Officially known as Defending Freedom Soldier Memorial at Red Rock, it was dedicated Dec. 17. The ceremony was attended by more than 100 people.
