Where a star is born
Former area resident takes the stage in children's musical

At age 3, former Green Valley resident Suzanne Hepker started taking dance lessons. Though she didn't know at the time that two decades later she would dance professionally in a New York-based music theater production, Hepker said she has always known she wanted a career in musical theater.

After almost five years living in Colorado and New York, Hepker will return to the valley this week as a cast member with the touring musical production "Dragon Tales Live."

Cimarron-Memorial takes Class 4A title six out of eight times

Only a few high school teams in Southern Nevada can claim to have a dynasty in Class 4A, but only one program can say it has won four straight and six of the last eight NIAA state championships in their sport -- the Cimarron-Memorial High School wrestling team.

Riding the backs of three seniors who won individual state championships, the Spartans won the title over second-place Mojave (108-84) on Feb. 11 in the meet hosted by Cimarron.
