FAIR

Hispanic women and family fair scheduled

A Hispanic women's and family fair will be held 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 4 at the East Las Vegas Community/Senior Center, 250 N. Eastern Ave.

The free event will offer bi-lingual information booths and seminars on education, finance, beauty, fashion, career planning, health and nutrition. Call 229-1515.

FUNDRAISER

Therapy center to raise funds for spring event

The Center for Creative Therapeutic Arts is looking to raise money for an educational event that it plans to offer this spring.

The fundraiser for Echoes of Sound: A Multicultural Event Celebrating 15 Years of Music for Life, is set for 11:30 a.m. March 3 at Lawry's Prime The Rib, 4043 Howard Hughes Parkway.

The fundraiser will include a silent auction, followed by a luncheon and formal program.

Faculty orchestra to perform at CCSN

CCSN's Cheyenne campus will present its 40-piece faculty orchestra conducted by Dr. Richard McGee at 2 p.m. March 5 at the college's Horn Theatre, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave.

Race for the Cure accepting sign-ups

The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation has launched its online registration for the 2006 Race for the Cure at www.lvraceforthecure.com.

The race is scheduled for May 6 at the Fremont Street Experience and raises money for breast cancer research and community outreach programs.

Comedy event to honor recipients

The Million Dollar Night of Comedy, hosted by Champions of Freedom and the United Jewish Community/Jewish Federation, is set for 6 p.m., March 11 at The Venetian.

The event will honor Jayn and Art Marshall with the Hank Greenspun Founders Award, as well as recognize Sonja and Mike Saltman with the David L. Simon Bridge Builder for Peace Award.

Utah troupe to present 'Macbeth'

The Utah Shakespearean Festival Company will present a 90-minute adaptation of "Macbeth" at 8 p.m. on March 3 and at 2 and 8 p.m. on March 4 at the Horn Theatre on the college's Cheyenne campus, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave.
