At its Jan. 17 meeting, the Las Vegas Planning Commission voted to:

Approve to vacate and abandon first extension of time a public right-of-way being a portion of English Avenue between Tropicana Avenue and Boulder Highway.

Approve an extension of time to commence a planned unit development and permit a zero lot line design; waivers of development standards to reduce street setbacks and reduce setbacks; design review for a planned unit development on 6.9 acres on the south side of Tropicana Avenue and the east and west sides of English Avenue.

Approve a tentative map consisting of 58 planned unit development single-family lots and seven common element lots on 6.9 acres on the south side of Tropicana Avenue and the west side of County Road.

Approve that the Planning Commission and the Board of County Commissioners hold a public hearing for a minor amendment to the Sunrise Manor Land Use Plan Map and take appropriate action.

At its Jan. 18 meeting, the commission voted to:

Approve the design review for a car wash; waiver of conditions of a zone change requiring a common architectural theme to be maintained throughout the project on 1 acre on the south side of Lake Mead Boulevard, 180 feet east of Shatz Street.

Approve an extension of time to commence an apartment complex on an 8.7 acre portion of a 17.5 acre parcel ion the southeast corner of Nellis Boulevard and Rawhide Avenue.

Approve the zone change to reclassify 0.8 acres from an R-2 zone to C-2 zone for a future commercial use generally located on the east side of Nellis Boulevard, 125 feet south of Owens Avenue.

Approve the waiver of conditions of a zone change requiring a 20-foot setback for garage doors on 63.7 acres in the MUD-3 overlay district on the east side of Boulder Highway and 1,800 feet north of Russell Road.

Approve to vacate and abandon a portion of right-of-way being Desert Horizon Drive between Boulder Highway and Hollywood Boulevard in the MUD-3 overlay district.

Approve the use permit for a planned unit development on 63.7 acres in the MUD-3 overlay district on the east side of Boulder Highway, 1,800 feet north of Russell Road.

Approve the tentative map consisting of 702 single-family and multiple family residential lots and eight common element lots on 63.7 acres in the MUD-3 overlay district on the east side of Boulder Highway and 1,800 feet north of Russell Road.

Approve the tentative map for a subdivision consisting of 287 single-family residential lots and nine common elements on 42.2 acres on the north side of Cheyenne Avenue and the east side of Marion Drive.

Deny the holdover appeal use permit to allow the storage of more unregistered/inoperable vehicles than permitted for vehicle hobby repair and restoration in conjunction with a single-family residence on 0.7 acres on the west side of Linn Lane and 800 feet north of Owens Avenue.

At its Jan. 19 meeting, the commission voted to:

Approve the design review for a new dewatering building and transfer pump station in conjunction with the Clark County Reclamation District on a portion of 320 acres on the southeast corner of Flamingo Road and Power Line Road.

Approve the amended use permit to allow a recycling center and material recovery facility; design review for a modular building in conjunction with a recycling center and materials recovery facility on 5 acres on the north side of Alto Avenue and the west side of Christy Lane, 1,000 feet east of Betty Lane.

Approve the use permits for a pawn shop and a check cashing service within 1,000 feet of an existing check cashing service in conjunction with an existing shopping center on 8.7 acres on the southeast corner of Las Vegas Boulevard North and Cheyenne Avenue.

Approve the use permits for the relocation of power transmission lines and poles and to reduce setbacks and increase height of proposed poles on 14.2 acres on the east side of Boulder Highway and the south side of Russell Road.

Approve the use permit to allow four radio transmission towers and design review for four radio transmission towers and an accessory building on a portion of 311 acres on the south side of Flamingo Road, 1 mile east of Hollywood Boulevard.
