Highland dancers to perform at UNLV

The UNLV Performing Arts Center will feature The Pipes, Drums, and Highland Dancers of 1st Battalion: The Black Watch & The Band of the Welsh Guards at 4 p.m. on Sunday as part of the Charles Vanda Master Series.

Tickets are $40, $55 and $85 and can be purchased at the Performing Arts Center Box Office by calling 895-2787 or by visiting www.pac.unlv.edu.

Student rush tickets are $12.50 each and available one hour prior to each event, based on availability and with valid student ID. UNLV faculty and staff discounts also are available.

GOVERNMENT

Parliamentarians to hold meeting

The Nevada State Association of Parliamentarians will be sponsoring a forum in an effort to expand membership in the Green Valley area.

The event is set for 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 28 at the McDonald Ranch Sun City Community Center, 2020 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway. There will be a 60-minute program, followed by a Q-and-A segment.

The organization works with groups and individuals to educate them on fair and effective meeting procedures.

HEALTH

Free vascular disease screenings planned

Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center will offer screenings for vascular disease free of charge for qualified participants. The screenings normally cost $149.

Limited to the first 90 qualified applicants, the screenings will be sponsored by Medtronics and will be offered by appointment only from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday and May 25 at Sunrise Hospital, 3186 S. Maryland Parkway.

The tests will consist of a medical check for abdominal aortic aneurysms, peripheral artery disease and carotid artery disease. For more information, call (866) 220-7283.
