CORE Construction receives award
CORE Construction, a Nevada-based general contractor, recently was given the Best of '05 award in the education K-12 category for the construction of Arbor View High School.
The award was presented by Southwest Contractor Magazine.
The project, at the southeast corner of Buffalo and Grand Teton drives, was the first built according to the new high school prototypes.
Tate Snyder Kimsey Architects designed the $46 million project.
Restaurants and hotels get diamond awards
Seven local restaurants received AAA Four Diamond Awards from AAA Travel.
The award winners were Prime Steakhouse, Nobhill, Shibuya, Seablue, Pearl, Fleur de Lys, and Shintaro.
First-time hotel winners were Renaissance Las Vegas Hotel, JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort and Spa, and Bliss Mansion in Carson City.

Bank outdoes itself for community support
Business Bank of Nevada has had its third consecutive record year for philanthropic outreach in Nevada for 2005.
The bank's monetary and in-kind support totaled more than $35,000 in cash and donations.
Donations included items such as computer and office equipment and more than 1,200 hours of volunteer services from bank employees.
