Low Calzone dishes out culinary kudos

We are writing this letter to personally commend you on the Low Calzone article in the Henderson (Jan. 13) and Southeast (Jan. 18) Views. We felt the article was well written and the staff did a tremendous job in all facets putting the article together. The View staff -- especially reporter Angie Parkinson and photographer Shelly Donahue -- was professional, accommodating and personable throughout the process. Angie spent considerable time performing an in-depth interview and she made a concerted effort to understand the Low Calzone concept by watching the operation in action and asking intuitive questions. Often in media, statements are misquoted or taken out of context but every quote and statement in the article was 100 percent accurate.

Shelly did a wonderful job taking and selecting the photograph for the article. As Low Calzone's signature item is its marinated Italian chicken, it was nice to see that this item was highlighted in the photograph. We were really impressed that Shelly took so many pictures just to make sure that one excellent photograph would be used. We applaud the fact that she did not ask us to stage anything so the photographs looked natural and accurately reflect the Low Calzone theme and environment.

What was most delightful about the article was the response we received from the public. Many new guests visited Low Calzone just because they saw the article. The most important thing to me is our guests' experience and opinion of Low Calzone. Many of the guests came up to us after their meals and commented on the quality and accuracy of the article. This was truly gratifying for the entire Low Calzone team.

Once again, we would like to acknowledge and commend Angie and Shelly, as well as the entire View staff for an outstanding job with the Low Calzone piece.

Keep up the good work!

BRADLEY ROSENBERG AND MATTHEW HOELICK OWNERS, LOW CALZONE

Walk-in traffic floods Summerlin Shoes store

Thank you so much for the kind article ("Comfort is Key at Summerlin Shoes," Jan. 25, Summerlin and Summerlin South Views) that you wrote about our new store Summerlin Shoes. As a direct response to the article, we had a number of customers come in immediately to see our store and buy shoes.

As of today, customers continue to pour in exclaiming that this is the store that was written up in the View. Evidently you have a powerful following. I am very impressed!

Customers seem to enjoy themselves in this new setting to consider their footwear needs, as well as view many of their own favorite brands and see the latest, greatest styles.

It is absolutely unanimous that our customers love the convenience of shopping for shoes here verses. the dreaded trip to the Strip. Now many new customers have found their way here and have left extremely satisfied with the service and the selection.

Please drop by to say hello the next time that you are in the area. Warmest regards,

RICHARD OLSON PRESIDENT, SUMMERLIN SHOES
