SAFETY

Photos ID kits offered for area children

Farmers Insurance, in cooperation with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and Las Vegas Fire Department, is hosting a digital identification event from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday at the Wal-Mart parking lot at 2310 E. Serene Ave.

The event is part of an effort to provide parents with personal digital safety identification kits for their children should the youngsters become lost or missing.

Parents will be able to obtain free, standardized high-quality digital images of their children and a fingerprint kit. They also can sign up for a free copy of the Home Organizer software program to store their digital photos.

The Home Organizer is a program designed to raise awareness of child safety and provide parents with a tool to aid law enforcement authorities in the search for a missing child.

For more information, call Matt Heifner at 501-7203.
