Valentine's Day father/ daughter dance set

The city of Henderson's Parks and Recreation department will host its annual daddy/daughter Valentine's dance on Feb.10.

It is open to girls ages three to 12 years old and their father, stepfather or grandfather.

The event will be held at the Henderson Multigenerational Center, 250 S. Green Valley Parkway. from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Registration is $10 per father/daughter pair, and $5 for additional daughters.

Cookies & Cupid event to be held Feb. 14

The city of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department will host a Valentine's Day Cookies & Cupid event on Feb. 14 for children ages 6 to 11 p.m. Children will decorate cookies, make crafts and play games under the supervision of recreation center staff.

The event is $12 per youth and will be held at the Black Mountain Recreation Center, 599 Greenway Road, 267-4070, and the Silver Springs Recreation Center, 1951 Silver Springs Parkway, 267-5720. Youth must be registered by Feb. 10 to participate.

Vintage vehicles sought for auto show

The Cadillac-LaSalle Club of Las Vegas invites valley residents who own vintage Cadillac or LaSalle automobiles to participate in a Cadillac Through the Years auto show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Feb. 12 along Main Street at the District at Green Valley Ranch.

The auto show will include a display of vintage Cadillac and LaSalle automobiles, and well as a history center and a showing of paintings by artist Ruel James.

The free show will be open to the public. For information about entering an automobile in the show, call 392-7879.

Prospective vocalists get shot at local choir

The Southern Nevada Musical Arts Society choir is accepting new members for the 2006 concert season.

Openings are available in all voice parts, and any member of the community is welcome to audition.

Rehearsals are held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. every Sunday in UNLV's Alta Ham Fine Arts building, Room 222.
