Make-A-Wish Foundation, developer remodel high school senior's room

Relaxing in his family's Green Valley home, Michael McIntosh looks like any other modern teen, with his braces, sweatshirt and baggy pants.

No one outside his circle of friends and family would ever guess that the 17-year-old has been through a gruelling battle with a brain tumor. But when he takes the hood of his sweatshirt down, there is a scar from the ordeal on the back of his head.

Three teams to vie for state championship

Heading into the homestretch of the Southern Nevada Class 1A boys basketball race, the three teams in contention for the league title are as formidable a trio as has been seen in recent years, with all three having a realistic chance at winning a berth to the state playoffs in Reno later this month.

One of those three teams is Trinity Christian (12-6, 6-1 Southern), coached by second-year man Hugh Roberts. The Thunder players want to return to state after losing to eventual 1A champ Virginia City in the semifinals held at The Orleans Arena last year.
