View welcomes announcements of recent achievements of Favorite Sons & Daughters who have graduated from local high schools. Achievements may run the gamut from earning a college degree to successfully climbing Mount Everest. Please include the name of the area high school and year graduated. Emmanuel G. Caudillo will graduate from the University of Southern California on May 12 with a bachelor's degree in political science and minors in law/public policy and sociology.

Caudillo graduated with honors from Silverado High School in 2002.

He will take part in Model U.S. House of Representatives later this month in Washington, D.C., and will be doing his graduate study there in the fall.

He is the son of Manuel and Martha Caudillo of Henderson.

Spencer Christensen has obtained his Eagle Scout award. He is a member of Troop 470 and is sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Spencer is the son of Eric and Ann Christensen of Las Vegas.

Christopher Ross Sutton, a graphic design student at the Art Institute of Las Vegas, won third place in a competition sponsored by Quark Inc., a computer software company, in February.

The competition showcased students' creative ideas and designs using QuarkXPress to produce an educational marketing campaign.

Christopher won a copy of QuarkXPress 6.5 and the upgrade for the 7.0 version.
