Smalley Elementary close to getting approved site
School's location debated for 3 years by area residents

There are more than enough students to fill it, the name has been selected and the money has been allotted. The only thing lacking for the new elementary school planned for the foothills above Henderson is a piece of land.

After about three years of debate over the location of the future Smalley Elementary School, the Henderson City Council will likely decide on a site at its 7 p.m. meeting Tuesday.

Bunnies given as Easter gifts often become abandoned
Local woman organizes rabbit rescue

It never fails. Each year, parents across the valley give their children cuddly baby bunnies for Easter. Each year, many of those bunnies, now grown to full size, are neglected, left at animal shelters or taken into the desert, where they are unceremoniously abandoned.
