Little League wins big
Peccole All-Stars take state title

By KEVIN STOTT
VIEW STAFF WRITER

It seems Nevada's Little League representative at the Western Regional always has to butt heads with a powerful team from Southern California every August and this year was no exception, but the Peccole Little League All-Stars certainly left an impression with the eventual regional champs from the Rancho Buena Vista Little League, giving them a couple of decent scares in San Bernardino.

The trip to the Western Regional for Peccole -- a group of all-stars ages 11-12 from the Peccole Little League -- started with the District 4 tournament July 5-13 hosted by the Summerlin Little League. After rolling over Mountain Ridge (16-10), Western (7-0) and Redrock (10-0), Peccole suddenly found themselves in the loser's bracket in the double-elimination tournament after suffering a 6-4 loss to Cheyenne July 9.
