LOVELY WAHINES: Sticking to roots
Hula studio teaches only traditional dance techniques

By age 18, native Hawaiian Kahealani Kapana had travelled all over the world performing with her mother, an expert dancer who taught her everything about the art. She and her mother worked for Hawaiian and American Airlines to promote Hawaiian vacations in places like Turkey, New Zealand and all over the United States. She and her mother would promote the islands through their traditional dance performances.

"My mother is my teacher. They call us 'dance brats,' " she said.

Bodybuilders pump up for Olympia weekend
Competition to be held at The Orleans Arena

Thus is the direction Joe Weider's 2005 Olympia Weekend is taking as the Super Bowl of bodybuilding comes to The Orleans Arena Thursday through Sunday, where it will celebrate its 40th anniversary this year.
