OPEN MEETING: Staying informed
Ross also seeks feedback on his job performance

City and state officials, volunteers and business leaders gathered Sept. 29 at Neal Elementary School for the first of what Las Vegas City Councilman Steven Ross promises will be many informational meetings for residents of Centennial Hills.

Ross said he organized the open meeting so his constituents could enjoy "one-stop shopping" for information about parks, roadways, schools and new business developments in the area.

Celebrating all things literary
Ten days' worth of activities planned for yearly cultural event

There's something downright funny about this year's Vegas Valley Book Festival.

Organizers of the fourth annual celebration of all things literary, planned for Thursday through Oct. 22 at various locations across the valley, including downtown, hope to make book lovers laugh with the fest's focus on satire.
