CAI to host 14th annual expo

The Community Associations Institute's 14th annual Exposition and Education Day will be held from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Palace Station. The event is free and open to the public and will feature numerous exhibits such as community management firms, construction and maintenance outfits, builders and developers, accountants, attorneys, insurance providers and more.

Seminars and workshops geared to educate individual homeowners, board members and community managers also are free to the public. For more information, call 648-8408.

WIC luncheon to host guest speakers

ORGANIZATIONS

CAI activates toll-free national hot line

Community Association Institute (CAI), a nationwide organization with a Nevada chapter based in Southern Nevada, has activated a toll-free national telephone hot line, (888) 224-4321, that gives members a no-cost way to renew membership, order industry publications, register for general courses and obtain other information.

The number is staffed by members of the CAI Direct Team and operational from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Mandalay gives to the United Way

United Way of Southern Nevada recently received a $125,000 corporate gift from Mandalay Resort Group to support development of the second Success By 6 Neighborhood Center. The check presentation took place in August at Tom Williams Elementary School, the site of the new center, which will provide early childhood learning support to families with children under the age of 6.

Athletics department changes made

UNLV President Carol Harter recently announced organizational changes designed to maximize operating efficiencies for the university's Athletic Department, Thomas & Mack Center, Cox Pavilion and Sam Boyd Stadium.

Athletic Director Mike Hamrick will lead the combined operations of a new unit encompassing all three athletic and special event venues. Daren Libonati will continue to oversee these facilities, under a new leadership role in the university's Athletic Department.
