BASEBALL

Academy to offer pair of skills clinics

The Las Vegas Baseball Academy has scheduled a pair of skills clinics, June 7-9 and June 10-12, at the Boys & Girls Club West, located at 2850 S. Lindell Road.

The clinics, open to ages 7-14, will feature offensive and defensive sessions, with a 10 percent discount for campers who attend both sessions.

BASKETBALL

Tarkanian Academy organizes camps

The Tarkanian Basketball Academy has scheduled several basketball camps in June, July and August, for ages 5 to 18.

Ages 8-16 invited to Blazer Camp

The 12th annual Blazer Basketball Camp is scheduled from June 7-10 and June 14-17 at Durango High School.

The camp is open to boys and girls, ages 8-16, and the registration fee of $125 per player includes a camp T-shirt, camp photo package, a personal evaluation, a basketball drill book and a Nike basketball. Awards and prizes also will be provided.

State winners to offer camp

The reigning Palo Verde High School boys basketball state champions have scheduled a basketball camp from June 21-24.

The camp is open to boys and girls in grades three through 10 and the registration fee of $125 includes a T-shirt, reversible jersey and a camp basketball. Those interested can call head coach Phil Clarke at 799-1450, ext. 4046, or 254-4028.

Skills camps planned for summer months

Ultimate Soccer Academy Summer Camps are scheduled in June, July and August at Spotted Leaf Soccer Fields, located at 2955 Spotted Leaf Lane, near the corner of Sahara and Town Center avenues.

BOWLING

Bronze coaching certification planned

The USA Bowling Coaching Program has scheduled a Bronze level coaching certification conference June 24-26 at Texas Station.

LV Golf Club to host tourney

The Nevada Association of Purchasing and Supply Management has scheduled its 18th annual golf tournament June 12 at the Las Vegas Golf Club.

Benefit to aid Down syndrome group

The Down Syndrome Organization of Southern Nevada has scheduled an invitational golf tournament May 26 at Rhodes Ranch Golf Club, with proceeds to benefit the nonprofit organization.

The entry fee for the four-person scramble is $225 and the tournament will be followed by an awards dinner party, along with a raffle and prizes. Those interested can call 648-1990.

Sapphire Foundation event at Bali Hai

Sapphire Gentlemen's Club has scheduled the Sapphire Foundation for Prostate Cancer golf tournament May 27 at Bali Hai Golf Club.

UNLV wellness event set for June 5

The fifth annual UNLV Physical Therapy golf tournament/wellness event is scheduled for June 5 at Aliante Golf Club in North Las Vegas, with proceeds to benefit Positively Kids and the Department of Physical Therapy at UNLV.

Police vs. Fire tourney to heat up

The second annual Policemen vs. Firemen charity golf tournament is scheduled for June 3 at the Angel Park Golf Club.

Proceeds will benefit the University Medical Center Burn Center and the Police Athletic League of Southern Nevada.

Last year's event raised close to $7,000 for the organizations. This year's tournament will feature prizes, a banquet, auction, raffle and more.

Sponsors are needed, with tee sponsorships costing $150 apiece.

Event to aid Habitat for Humanity

The Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors has scheduled its 17th annual golf tournament to benefit Habitat for Humanity.

A golf and lunch package costs $175 per person, or lunch itself is available for $50. Tee sponsorships are available for $200 apiece.

Elks tourney to benefit Child Seekers

The Las Vegas Elks No. 1468 charity golf tournament, to benefit Nevada Child Seekers, is scheduled for Monday.

Duffers to hit links Fore the Kids

The Olive Crest Homes & Services for Abused Children annual golf invitational, Fore the Kids, is scheduled for June 28 at Rio Secco Golf Course in Henderson.

Fees include prizes, breakfast, live and silent auctions and a luncheon banquet.

TENNIS

State association schedules classes

The Nevada Tennis Association has scheduled USA Tennis 1-2-3 youth and adult tennis classes, starting the week of May 31.

Lessons will be offered at parks across the valley.

The classes are open to all skill levels, including novices and they meet an hour a week for six weeks.

The registration fee is $45 per session and loaner racquets are provided.
