The scary nature of the machines in the "Terminator" movies has nothing on Survival Research Laboratories. The machines they show at venues around the country are real and can operate. An exhibit at UNLV, entitled "Viva Las Vegas: Survival Research Laboratories Celebrates 25 Years!" showcases the frightful inventions of the laboratory's artists. The exhibit, which is currently running through Feb. 6, was originally going to culminate with a show at Sam Boyd Stadium on Feb. 7, but because the show would have violated pyrotechnic restrictions imposed by the Las Vegas Fire Department, it won't be stopping here.
