Eastern Marketplace offers special deal

After the seasonal pigging out is over -- usually after the first of the year -- the last thing many families want to do is cook.

Six restaurants inside Eastern Marketplace, 10050 S. Eastern Ave. in Henderson, are offering the chance to win a drawing that would grant nearly a week's worth of free food.

The concept of winning a family four-pack is not new. But a shopping center that comes together to offer free food at all of their major eateries is nearly unheard of.

Patricia Gonzales, general manager of Tommy Rockers, said the center's tenants have an unusual camaraderie, considering many businesses in an area are often competitive.

"We do 25 percent off for employees within the center already," Gonzales said. "But this is the first time we've come together to do a drawing like this one."

Residents winning the family four-pack to all six restaurants will have the opportunity to eat at (tentatively) Tommy Rocker's, Manhattan Bagel, Carabba's, Chili's, Quizno's and Inaka Sushi. Starting today, boxes will be placed at all locations within the center for the drawing, which will take place the end of the month.

Gonzales said the best part about the giveaway is the variety of spots that can please everyone in the family.

"It's not competitive at all around here and we're all involved in this together," she said.
