Pop Warner seeks volunteer coaches
The Southern Nevada Pop Warner Football Conference is looking for volunteer coaches, with qualified candidates at least 21 years old, with a love for football and kids and a desire to help the youth of the community. Youth league holds registration
The Nevada Youth Football League has scheduled registration from 10 a.m. to noon each Saturday through Feb. 28, at 1651 S. Buffalo Ave.
Players need to bring their birth certificate, utility bill and a parent's driver's license. The registration fee is $150 for the youth division (ages 7-14) and $260 for the senior division (ages 14-16). Players must be present to weigh in.

Speedway auction to benefit children
The sixth annual Speedway Children's Charities NASCAR Driver Auction is scheduled for 6 p.m. March 4 at Sam's Town Live!, inside Sam's Town
More than 20 NASCAR Nextel Cup and Busch Series drivers took part in last year's event, which raised $146,000 for the Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities. Those interested can purchase tickets through tickets.com or at the Sam's Town box office at (800) 634-6371.

Free classes offered for former students
Desert Sun Taekwondo, Nevada's largest Olympic-style Taekwondo training facility, is offering two free weeks of taekwondo to all former martial arts students from any martial arts school.
Master Michael Evans, who teaches every class, said anyone who walks in with their uniform and wants to resume their training will receive two weeks free. Evans also is offering a free week to those interested in starting the study of martial arts.

GOLF
Volunteers needed for LPGA event
Volunteers are needed for the LPGA Takefuji Classic, which is scheduled for April 12-17 at the Las Vegas Country Club. Those interested can call 898-4653.
Free seminar offers swing analysis
A free golf and health seminar is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 28 at Silverstone Golf Club, with golf evaluations and swing video analysis offered, along with wine and cheese.
Topics covered will include spinal injuries, golf injuries and golf fitness. Dr. Dan Lee of Nevada orthopedic and spine center will be on hand, along with Mark Benson of HealthSouth and Jim Gregory, director of instruction for Golf Digest Schools. Those interested can call 810-5765.

The Las Vegas Elks #1468 charity golf tournament, to benefit Nevada Child Seekers, is scheduled for May 24 at the Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort.

League seeks girls ages 4-18
Silver State Girls Soccer League has scheduled registration, for ages 4-18, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. tonight at the Zelzah Shrine Temple, located at 2222 W. Mesquite Ave., south of U.S. Highway 95 and Rancho Avenue.
The registration fee is $40 per player. Registration fee includes a team T-shirt. Players also need to bring a wallet-sized photo and new players need to bring a copy of their birth certificate. Those interested can call 593-8508 and push 3.

BASEBALL
LVBA to set up skills clinic
The Las Vegas Baseball Academy has scheduled a skills clinic Saturday through Monday at the Boys & Girls Club located at 2850 South Lindell Road.
Offensive and defensive sessions are scheduled, with offense going from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. each day and defense running from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Campers who register for both sessions receive a 10 percent discount.
The camp, designed to prepare players for their upcoming season, is open to ages 7-14. Those interested can call 232-1330 or visit lvbaseballacademy.com.
Eldorado High to host youth camp
The Eldorado High School Sundevil Baseball Camp is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Feb. 20 and 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 21 at the school.
