AFFORDABLE HOUSING: A place of their own: Volunteers help single mother and kids build a house
Debra Murray has been trying to buy a home for years. The single mother of three doesn't earn enough, she says, to pay a regular mortgage, but earns too much to qualify for subsidized housing. She's one of the many people who are stuck in the middle, financially speaking -- too poor to purchase a home, not poor enough to get assistance.
