On July 15, the Planning Commission recommended to:

Approve a vacate and abandon easements of interest to Clark County located between Pine Shores Parkway and Cora Hills Court, and between Quarterhorse Lane and Painted Mountain Drive in a medium density residential zone.

Approve a vacate and abandon easements of interest to Clark County located between Hacienda Avenue and Tropicana Avenue, and between Fort Apache Road and Interstate 215 in a general commercial zone.

Approve a waiver of development standards to exceed wall height in conjunction with an approved single family residential subdivision on 20 acres in a multiple family residential zone located on the south side of El Dorado Lane and the east side of Buffalo Drive.

Approve a waiver of development standards to exceed wall height in conjunction with an approved single family residential subdivision on a portion of 52.6 acres in a medium density residential zone located on the north side of Robindale Road and 100 feet east of Tenaya Way.

Approve a waiver of development standards to waive the landscaping requirement on a portion of an approved single family residential subdivision on 10 acres in a medium density residential zone located on the south side of Pyle Avenue and the east side of Torrey Pines Drive.

Approve waivers of development standards for the following: 1) increase block wall height; and 2) increase retaining wall height within a street setback in conjunction with an approved single family residential subdivision on a portion of 17 acres in a medium density residential zone located between Haleh Avenue and Frias Avenue, and between Torrey Pines Drive and Bronco Street.

Approve a waiver of development standards to reduce parking in conjunction with a two story addition to an existing veterinary clinic on 0.5 acres in an office and professional zone located on the south side of Flamingo Road 220 feet east of Lindell Road.

Approve a variance to increase block wall height on 37 acres in a medium density residential zone within the Pinnacle Peaks Concept Plan area located on the south side of Robindale Road 660 feet west of Jones Boulevard.

Approve a variance to increase block wall height on 45 acres in a medium density residential zone within the Pinnacle Peaks Concept Plan area located on the north side of Wigwam Avenue and the west side of Torrey Pines Drive.

On July 16, the Planning Commission recommended to:

Approve a design review to increase the height of an existing off-premises sign on 1.6 acres in a designed manufacturing zone located on the south side of Wagon Trail Avenue 250 feet east of Durango Drive.

Approve a design review for a tavern site in conjunction with a shopping center on a portion of 20.3 acres in a general commercial zone located on the east side of Fort Apache Road 400 feet south of Tropicana Avenue.

Approve a zone change first extension of time to review a waiver of requirements of landscaping within a parking lot on 2.2 acres in a light manufacturing zone located on the west side of Valley View Boulevard 620 feet south of Tropicana Avenue.

Approve a waiver of development standards for off-site improvements including partial paving in conjunction with an approved office/warehouse complex with a convenience store and carwash on 6.6 acres in a light manufacturing zone and a waiver of conditions of a zone change requiring full off-sites located on the south side of Sunset Road and the west side of Arville Street.

Approve a waiver of development standards to allow more than one monument sign per street frontage; a waiver of conditions of two prior zone change applications requiring the following: "buildings shall be residential in character including features of the predominate architectural style in the immediate area and appropriate stone/brick trims;" "intense landscaping adjacent to the street frontages;" "providing a 15 foot wide landscape buffer along Durango Drive and Hacienda Avenue with medium trees;" and a "detached sidewalk along Durango Drive and Hacienda Avenue"; and a design review for an approximate 89,000 square foot office complex on 8 acres in an office and professional zone located on the northwest corner of Durango Drive and Hacienda Avenue.

Approve a zone change to reclassify 5 acres from rural estates residential zone to general commercial zone for future commercial development located on the south side of Arby Avenue 330 feet east of Rainbow Boulevard.

Approve a zone change to reclassify 2.5 acres from rural estates residential zone to designed manufacturing zone for future commercial and industrial development located on the west side of Redwood Street 300 feet north of Sunset Road.

Approve a zone change to reclassify 2.5 acres from rural estates residential zone to designed manufacturing zone for future commercial and industrial development located 700 feet east of Buffalo Drive and 350 feet north of Sunset Road.

Approve a zone change to reclassify 5 acres from rural estates residential zone to general commercial zone for future commercial development located on the west side of Buffalo Drive between Arby Avenue and Capovilla Avenue.

Approve a zone change to reclassify 15 acres from rural estates residential zone to local business zone and general commercial zone for a shopping center located on the northeast corner of Cimarron Road and Warm Springs Road.

Approve a zone change to reclassify 10 acres from designed manufacturing zone and light manufacturing zone to medium density residential zone within the Pinnacle Peaks Concept Plan area for a single family residential subdivision and a use permit for a Planned Unit Development located on the north side of Eldorado Lane and the east side of Lindell Road.

Deny a zone change to reclassify 10 acres from rural estates residential zone to general commercial zone for a shopping center and a use permit for a convenience store located on the north side of Sunset Road approximately 1,000 feet west of Fort Apache Road.

Approve a waiver of development standards to allow more than one monument sign per street frontage; a waiver of conditions of a prior zone change application requiring the following: 1) "landscaping to be shown on plans submitted at the February 3, 1999 Board of County Commissioners' meeting;" 2) "no access to Tara Avenue (as shown per plans on file);" and 3) "monument signage (a maximum height of seven feet);" and a design review for an approximate 40,000 square foot office complex on 3.8 acres in an office and professional zone located on the southeast corner of Jones Boulevard and Tara Avenue.

Approve a waiver of conditions of a zone change requiring a detached sidewalk in conjunction with an approved office/warehouse complex along Sunset Road on 76 acres in a designed manufacturing zone located on the north side of Sunset Road 700 feet west of Jones Boulevard.
